  1. Consume a wide array of foods. Your body needs a mixture of various food groups in order to function properly. Lean protein, complex carbs, fruits, veggies, whole grains and good fats are just some of the foods you should be consuming.
  2. Be sure to eat five servings of fruits and veggies a day. They will provide your body with important vitamin and minerals. 
  3. Just say no to bad fats. Anything fried and anything that is rich in saturated fats and trans fats should never be on your menu.
  4. Be sure not to overeat or skip meals. Try to consume a mini meal every 3 to 4 hours.
  5. Physical activity is a must. Be sure to exercise at least 45 minutes a day. 30 minutes of cardio and 15 of strength training.
  6. Be sure that you don’t have any junk food in the house. Studies show that people who do not keep junk food at home are less likely to consume junk food when out.
  7. Be sure that your kitchen is well stocked with lean protein, fruits, veggies, whole grains, legumes, nuts, good fats, and low fat dairy.
