Learning to Control your Hunger

Has constant hunger become a major part of your life? A lot of people can’t seem to escape the feeling of constant hunger. Even though they may have just finished a fulfilling meal, they still find themselves wanting a quick snack. Food urges such as this one are usually emotionally driven; however, the real question is whether such hunger can be prevented?

The answer to this question is an easy “yes.” Controlling ones hunger is possible and strongly encouraged for those of us who are overweight. Aside from an appetite suppressing diet pill, such as the hoodia pill, there are certain foods which can curb your hunger. One of these foods is an apple. Apples are great for anyone who wants to lose weight because they are rich in water and fiber, both of which help us stay full longer. The fiber in apples causes your blood sugar to rise slowly thereby keeping your hunger hormones in balance. When you eat other foods to curb your hunger, such as a candy bar, your sugar levels spike up quickly and drop quickly thereby creating an imbalance in your hunger hormones. And as an added bonus, remember that apples serve as a natural inflammatory.

Learning to control your hunger is also important while dining out. Eating out usually entices a person to eat something that is laden with calories, that is why it is important to order a small garden salad prior to the arrival of your meal. The salad will slow down the entrance of glucose into your bloodstream and make you less hungry when your meal arrives. This is one of the best ways to avoid overeating while eating out. You should also remember that majority of restaurants offer weight loss friendly meals. These are just a few tips to help you control your hunger while at home or while eating out.
